The U.S is ready to pull out the Paris climate change accord. This is the first formal step to exit the global pact, which may take up to a year.

The Trump administration has formally informed to UN about its upcoming move.

President Trump is determined to keep his promise to withdraw the pact.

“We will put coal miners back to work”, Trump spoke to a rally in 2017. “Clean Coal, Clean Coal”, He added.

However, America is one of the world’s biggest sources of greenhouse gas emissions.

According to Trump, getting out of the accord was necessary to boost US oil, gas and coal industries.

As per the global pact, each country has a specific goal to curb emissions of heat-trapping gases. Nearly 200 countries signed the deal to fight against climate change.

From the U.S, former President Barack Obama signed the pact promising a 26-28 percent cut in US greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 from 2005 levels.
